Ever since we had our food tasting with Chef Velmor in one of his wedding events in Arts in the City, we both liked his dishes. Every viand is unique and cooked deliciously. We especially love his take on an old-time filipino favorite viand which is Caldereta with a twist. And when he served his desserts, they were so heavenly that I want to take home a whole cake with me. Unfortunately his package that time was a bit beyond our budget. So we did not book him then.
Then one ordinary Thursday night, out of the blue, I received an email from him. He was announcing their 3rd year anniversary promo taking 30% off from the package price. I literally shrieked in excitement the moment I got his email. This is it! I quickly texted Athan and urged him that we get Chef as our caterer and he surely did agreed. I then texted Chef and informed him that we want to book him already. So we set up a meeting on the upcoming Sunday in his resto to discuss the details and pay for the down payment.
Chef Velmor's restaurant is located in A. Mabini St., Manila. He has just recently acquired the restaurant kaya the name is still Dolce Vita restaurant - he will soon be changing it to Cucina ni Chef. We were seated inside a medyo private room with 4 tables naka setup. May kasabay pa kami fellow w@wie having their food tasting. And to our surprise, we were also served with the food tasting menu. Hahahaha Ang saya! And the food did not disappoint us at all. Consistent pa rin si Chef. Every dish was masarap. To my fellow readers, sorry kasi once again we forgot to take pictures of our food. We managed to take a few when we realized that we have a camera with us. hehehe
