Venue Hunting: Trip to Marikina

Ang hirap maghanap ng venue, ang mahal naman kasi ng mga magagandang venues =(
Our first priority is to be able to decide on a reception venue then decide on a church nearby para hindi mahirapan mga guests to commute.

For this weekend, we ventured to Marikina to check out Kapitan Moy and San Roque church. The commute was not that hard. We started in MRT Cubao then changed to LRT2 towards Katipunan. From Katipunan, we took the south exit and rode a jeep going to Calumpang. We told the driver to drop us off in San Roque church. The jeepney ride only took us around 15mins or so.

When we arrived at the church, may ongoing funeral service. We still took some pictures though. Maganda ang interior ng church pero marami pang ongoing renovations, maybe by next year tapos na =)

Currently, the wedding rates for the church is P 6,500. You need pay P 1,000 to reserve the date which is deductible from the total rate. Rate includes priest, commentator, seminars, choir and carpet but does not include flowers. So far, this is the most affordable church I ever encountered. =)

Next stop is Kapitoy Moy which is just across the street - very convenient =D Ang ganda ng house. See pictures na lang to appreciate, hindi ko kaya ilagay sa words mga nakita namin hehehe The venue is at the 2nd floor and the place is huge. It can fit up to 300 guests daw. When we visited the place, may nagpreprepare for a wedding event. Just our luck, at least we get to see how it looks and we also got to meet another potential supplier, Angelica's Catering. We ask Miss Joan to email to us their packages.

The Reception Venue

Kapitan Moy is a property of the government so if you want to reserve the place you should go to Marikina City Hall. Venue rate is P 15,000 + P 2,000 for security deposit. Fee is good for 4 hours use of venue with free use of tables and chairs and basic sound system.
It was past 1 in the afternoon na and we have not yet took our lunch. We decided to eat at Cafe Kapitan Restaurant, which was the in-house caterer of Kapitan Moy. They also have their own reception venue which is already free with the package. If you use their venue, package is P 78,000 for 100 guests. They also have another option to use the 2nd floor of Kapitan Moy at P 90,000 for 100 guests. Medyo pricey for us ang package nila so I don't think we will be getting them.

It was a fruitful weekend for us. Seeing the place, we are now considering San Roque Church and Kapitan Moy for our venues. Hopefully by end of July or August we will be able to make our decisions. Till our next venue hunt. =)

    1. Yes sis, super luwag neto for 100 persons kasya up to 300 guests. May mga partner caterers sila pero hindi naman necessary na sila ang kukunin ninyo. Sample caterer nila is ung Cafe Kapitan which is located just below the venue. Hindi ko na maalala yung iba. Pero you can also consider Patio de Tata Roque, malapit lang din sila sa venue and affordable rates nila.

      Happy prepping sis!
